What it is

Not a heated box. A Finnish sauna that happens to fit.

Most of what gets sold as a "home sauna" is a compromise on heat. The Sweat Booth isn't. It runs a commercial-grade Finnish Harvia heater — the same name that heats public saunas across Scandinavia — up to a genuine 185°F. That's the temperature where a traditional sauna stops being warm and starts being a sauna: the deep, dry, radiant heat you feel in your chest.

Everything else is built around making that heat livable. Smart Air Flow Technology pulls fresh air in low and pushes spent air out high through dual vents, so the booth breathes instead of stifling. The back wall reclines. The benches lift out. And the full glass front means you're looking out at your yard, not at a wall six inches from your face.

Cedar throughout, hand-selected, with weatherproof roofing — so it lives just as happily on a back patio as it does in a basement or garage.

Footprint vs. feeling

Small on the patio. Wide open on the inside.

Compact footprint is the whole point of this design — it slides into a corner of a deck, a garage bay, a basement wall. But compact is only good news if it doesn't feel like one.

The full glass front is what does the work. Instead of four cedar walls closing in, you get an open sightline straight out to whatever's in front of you. People who have felt claustrophobic in a conventional sauna almost always tell us this one reads as surprisingly spacious — bright, airy, and nothing like being shut in a closet.

The dual-vent airflow helps too. Stagnant air is most of what makes a small hot room feel oppressive; moving air makes the same space feel twice as big.

How it works

Four things doing one job.

01

The Harvia heater

A commercial-grade Finnish heater brings the cabin to 185°F and holds it there. Stones on top mean you can ladle water for löyly — the burst of steam that defines a traditional session — instead of sitting in flat, dry heat.

02

Smart Air Flow, dual vents

Cool air enters low near the heater, rises as it warms, and leaves high through the upper vent. The result is even heat from ankle to shoulder and air that stays breathable through a long sit.

03

Reclining back wall, removable benches

The back wall is angled to sit against rather than bolt upright. The benches lift straight out — which makes cleaning simple, and lets you reconfigure the space for one person stretched out instead of two sitting up.

04

Cedar and a weatherproof roof

Hand-selected cedar handles heat and moisture without warping, and smells like it should. The weatherproof roofing is what lets the same booth live outside year-round or inside without modification.

Which one is yours

Traditional heat, or infrared?

We sell both, and we'd rather you pick right than pick expensive. They are genuinely different experiences.

The Sweat Booth — traditional

  • Heats the air to 185°F, then heats you
  • Löyly — water on hot stones for real steam
  • The classic Finnish sauna feeling, at home
  • Seats two, full glass front, indoor or outdoor
  • Best if you already love a hot, traditional sauna

SweatBox Indoor / Outdoor — infrared

  • Heats you directly with infrared, at a lower air temperature
  • Plugs into a standard 110V outlet
  • Easier on people who find high air heat hard to tolerate
  • Full-spectrum near-infrared and red light therapy
  • Best if you want gentler sessions or simpler setup
Why people sit

What twenty minutes buys you.

Recovery

Heat, then quiet

Heat is the oldest recovery tool there is. A hot sit after training — or after a long day of not training — is the part most people skip and then miss.

Circulation

Everything opens up

High heat raises your core temperature and pushes blood toward the skin. It's the reason you leave a sauna loose instead of stiff.

Sleep

The evening ritual

The drop in body temperature after a sauna session is the same drop your body uses to fall asleep. An evening sit is a hard cue for winding down.

Ritual

Room for two

A sauna built for two is a different object than one built for one. It's where the phone stays outside and the conversation actually happens.

Stress

Nothing else to do

You can't multitask at 185°F. That constraint is most of the value — twenty minutes where the only available activity is sitting still.

Skin

A proper sweat

Traditional heat produces the kind of full, streaming sweat that lower-temperature methods don't. Rinse after, and that's the session.

Before you buy

Questions we actually get.

No — and that's the point. The Sweat Booth is a traditional Finnish sauna: a Harvia heater warms the air to 185°F and the hot air warms you. Our SweatBox Indoor and Outdoor are infrared saunas, which heat your body directly at a much lower air temperature. If you love the intensity of a classic sauna, you want this one.
Yes. It's built from cedar with weatherproof roofing specifically so it can live outdoors year-round. It works just as well indoors — basements, garages and spare rooms are all common. Same booth either way, no conversion kit.
This is the question we get most, and the full glass front is the answer. You're looking out, not at a wall, which makes the interior read as surprisingly spacious. Add the dual-vent airflow keeping the air moving and it's a very different feeling from a small, sealed, stuffy cabin. It comfortably seats two.
Yes. That's löyly, and it's half of what makes a traditional sauna worth having. The Harvia heater is designed for it.
They're on the full spec sheet — email info@sweatboxshop.com or call (503) 342-7350 and we'll send it over the same day, along with what your electrician will need to know. We'd rather you measure twice than be surprised.
The deposit reserves your booth in the next build. We invoice the remaining balance before your unit is fulfilled — there's no interest and no credit check, it's simply a way to lock your place without paying everything up front. If you'd rather spread the full amount over time instead, Klarna and Affirm both offer 0% options at checkout.
It ships freight, free, to the lower 48 states. Because of the size, we schedule delivery with you rather than dropping it unannounced — someone will need to be there to receive it. We'll walk you through exactly what to expect before it leaves.
Yes, through TruMed at checkout. And because we're an Oregon company, you'll never pay sales tax on the order — on a purchase this size that alone is worth several hundred dollars in most states.
One-year manufacturer warranty and 14-day returns. We're a family-run Oregon business that's shipped more than 3,000 saunas — if something's wrong, you'll be talking to a person, not a ticket queue.
