INFRARED THERAPY

How Do Infrared Saunas Function?

All saunas share a common purpose: elevating your core body temperature to activate your body’s natural healing processes.

Traditional saunas use steam, fire, or electric heaters to heat the air, which then warms your body from the outside in. Infrared saunas use light technology to help you sweat more quickly and comfortably.

Sweat Box Sauna Near Infrared Red Light Bulbs

Unlike conventional methods, Sweat Box Sauna’s near infrared (NIR) light works in harmony with your body’s natural processes, generating heat from within. This shorter-wavelength light penetrates deeply, mimicking natural sunlight to raise your core temperature more efficiently.

  • Rapid heat therapy
  • Comfortable air temperatures
  • Integrated light therapy
  • Shorter sauna sessions

Sweat Box Saunas Far Infrared Panels

Our Sweatbox sauna also uses far infrared (FIR). Far infrared (FIR) therapy offers a variety of health benefits by using longer wavelengths of light that penetrate the surface of the skin to promote deep heat. This deep heat helps improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and alleviate joint pain. It also supports detoxification by increasing sweat production, which aids in the removal of toxins from the body. FIR therapy is known for its soothing, gentle warmth, making it an excellent option for relaxation, stress relief, and improving overall wellness without the high temperatures of traditional saunas. The Ideal Combination

By combining these two therapeutic methods in our precisely designed saunas, Sweat Box Sauna offers optimal relaxation, relief, and wellness. Continue reading to see how it all works.

LIGHT SPECTRUM

What Is Infrared Light?

Although we tend to think of light as coming from the sun, fire, or artificial sources, visible light is just a small part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Moving along the spectrum, wavelengths increase in length. Infrared light comes just after visible light. While we can’t see it, we can feel its warmth. It’s the infrared light from the sun that makes us feel comfortable and warm.

The Composition of Sunlight

Around 41% of the light from the sun is near infrared, but because near infrared penetrates deeply, over 70% of the energy we absorb from the sun is near infrared. The chart illustrates how sunlight’s natural light distribution tapers into the mid and far infrared spectrum.

OUR METHOD

What Is Sweat Box Sauna Technology?

Sweat Box Sauna technology utilizes custom incandescent sauna bulbs, combining high-quality tungsten filaments, hand-blown red-tinted glass, and years of engineering to produce full-spectrum infrared light that closely mimics natural sunlight. This with the combination of our Low EMF infrared panels gives you the full spectrum sauna experience.

What Makes Our Spectrum Unique?

The Sweat Box Sauna bulb’s light spectrum closely resembles sunlight, peaking at the most beneficial red and near infrared wavelengths before gently extending into mid and far infrared. Crucially, harmful UV and blue light are filtered out for your safety and well-being.

Our focus on near infrared light not only feels more natural but is also more comfortable. Since Sweat Box Sauna bulbs directly heat your body, they don’t need to heat the sauna’s air as much. This means you experience the benefits of both heat and light therapy without the overwhelming heat of traditional saunas.

INFRARED THERAPY BENEFITS

How Does Near Infrared Sauna Therapy Benefit My Body?

Sweat Box Sauna saunas offer a gentle, non-invasive way to stimulate your body’s most beneficial functions through two key processes: light therapy (phototherapy) and heat therapy (sauna).

Light Therapy

Your body has specialized receptors for red and near infrared light. These light particles are absorbed by the mitochondria in your cells, initiating beneficial biological processes and signals. Research shows that this interaction can reduce inflammation, enhance blood flow, improve oxygenation and circulation, promote muscle relaxation, and boost cellular energy production.

Heat Therapy

The near infrared light in our saunas generates radiant heat, raising your core body temperature by about three degrees. This increase prompts sweating and activates your body’s natural detoxification mechanisms.

EMFs and You

Learn how Sweat Box Sauna can help you completely unplug from stressors in your environment.

What Are EMFs?

EMF stands for electromagnetic field, a form of radiation created by the movement of electrical charges. Though invisible, EMFs are everywhere. Natural sources like the sun and thunderstorms create EMFs, as do many devices we use daily.

Types of EMFs

  • Ionizing EMFs: High-energy EMFs such as UV light, X-rays, and gamma rays that can break chemical bonds.
  • Non-Ionizing EMFs: Common in daily life, emitted by cell phones, Wi-Fi, and other modern technology.

Effects of EMFs

Day-to-day EMF exposure is typically lower, but scientists continue to study its long-term impact. EMFs are believed to act as stressors, creating free radicals that can contribute to various health issues.

How Sweat Box Sauna Minimizes EMFs

Our products are designed to minimize EMF exposure, including our wire shield, low EMF panels and grounding techniques.
