Built for the elements. Every detail earns its place.

Twelve NIR red light bulbs
Red light heater

12 NIR red light bulbs

Eight 100W bulbs plus four high-output 200W bulbs deliver 180°F of traditional-sauna heat and real light therapy at once — the heat comes from the light itself, so it performs in any climate.

Full-spectrum NIR therapy

Near-infrared light penetrates deep to support muscle recovery, circulation, reduced inflammation, cellular repair, and skin health — in every single session.

Insulated Canadian cedar construction
Materials

Fully insulated Canadian cedar

Premium unfinished cedar with insulated walls locks radiant heat in — reaching 180°F in as little as 15–25 minutes, even on a cold patio in winter.

Elevated base and all-weather cover
Weatherproofing

Elevated base + cover included

The cabin sits raised off the ground, away from wet decking — and every order ships with a fitted all-weather cover. Be sure to use the cover during all moisture, and replace the cover every 3–4 months to ensure adequate protection.

Internal control panel
Control

Adjust without leaving your seat

An internal control panel lets you change time and temperature mid-session — no stepping out into the cold. Dial it down for a gentler session or run it all the way to 180° — you're never locked into max heat. Automatic shut-off timer and EMF-shielding bulb covers included.

SweatBox Outdoor living on a backyard patio

Fully insulated walls

Insulation layered into the cedar cabin locks radiant heat in, so the Outdoor reaches 180°F in as little as 15–25 minutes — on a summer evening or a winter morning. Because the heat comes from the bulbs' light itself, not just the air, performance stays consistent in cold climates.

Elevated base + all-weather cover — included

The cabin sits raised off the ground, away from wet decking and pooling water, and every order ships with a fitted weatherproof cover at no charge. One honest rule: we leave the cedar with no finish, stain, or sealant of any kind — so there's nothing to off-gas in the heat — which makes the cover its only protection. Be sure to use the cover during all moisture (rain, snow, morning dew, sprinklers), and replace the cover every 3–4 months to ensure its protective features stay intact. That small habit is what keeps the cedar beautiful for years.

And yes — it works indoors too

Same 110V plug, same compact footprint. If your plans change, the Outdoor moves happily into a garage, gym, or spare room.

The science of our light

All three infrared ranges. Every session.

Most saunas give you one slice of the spectrum. The Outdoor's twelve incandescent bulbs — including four high-output 200W bulbs — emit one continuous band from 550 to 3,000+ nm, the way the sun does. That's the deep, full-body heat of a traditional sauna plus real light therapy from the same glowing source.

NIR · 700–1,400 nm

Near infrared

Penetrates deepest — into muscle, joints, and connective tissue. Absorbed by mitochondria to boost ATP: cellular repair, less inflammation, faster recovery, better circulation. Twelve NIR bulbs deliver it with intensity.

MIR · 1,400–3,000 nm

Mid infrared

Targets soft tissue just beneath the skin — expanding blood vessels, improving lymphatic drainage, easing chronic muscle tension and joint pain. Most LED saunas deliver no MIR at all.

FIR · 3,000 nm–1 mm

Far infrared

The intense, penetrating heat the Outdoor is known for. Combined with insulated cedar walls, FIR drives the deep 180° sweat traditional sauna users love — heat-shock proteins and the full detox response.

Why our red light wins

Real glass bulbs vs. plastic LED panels.

Nearly every sauna now advertises "red light therapy" — and nearly all of them do it with LED panels. We're one of the only saunas delivering red light through real incandescent glass bulbs. Here's why that difference matters every single session.

SweatBox — incandescent glass bulbs
550 → 3,000+ nm · one continuous band, like sunlight
Typical LED red light panel
660 nm + 850 nm · two thin slivers — no MIR, no FIR

✦ Our incandescent glass bulbs

  • The full spectrum, like sunlight — a glowing tungsten filament emits one continuous band from 550 to 3,000+ nm, covering visible red, NIR, MIR, and FIR.
  • Heat + light from one source — the same bulb warms you and delivers light therapy at once. Heat opens your blood vessels; light activates your mitochondria to use that oxygen. Scientists call it photothermal synergy — each amplifies the other.
  • Flicker-free glow — a heated filament has thermal inertia and can't strobe, so the light stays smooth for the whole session.
  • No electronics against your body — just glass and filament. Certified EMF below 2 milligauss.
  • Durable & replaceable — a bulb swaps out in seconds, so your sauna outlasts the trend.

Their plastic LED panels

  • Two wavelengths only — 660 nm and 850 nm, then nothing. No mid-infrared, no far-infrared. Targeted, but incomplete.
  • Light without heat — LEDs run cool, so the heat comes from a separate system bolted alongside. Two independent systems, zero synergy by design.
  • Flicker is possible — LED drivers cycling on AC power can strobe invisibly, a subtle stressor during long sessions.
  • Circuit boards inches away — drivers, controllers, sometimes wireless components sit right beside your body the whole time.
  • Sealed plastic housings — when a diode fails, you're replacing the entire panel.

The Sweat Box sauna was an easy setup. It looks great on my patio — honestly, it made my backyard look cooler. It gets to 180° even when it's cold out and the cover keeps it looking crispy. Love using it alongside my cold plunge in the warmer months!

Unfinished Canadian cedar interior of the SweatBox Outdoor

Unfinished Canadian cedar — nothing to off-gas

Sanded and left completely raw: no stains, varnishes, or chemical coatings of any kind. Cedar is naturally aromatic when heated, naturally antimicrobial against mold and mildew, and naturally insulating. Because we leave it raw, the included all-weather cover does the job a chemical sealant would — keep the cover on during any moisture and replace the cover every 3–4 months. At 180°F, the air you breathe should be warm cedar — nothing else.

Certified low EMF — below 2 milligauss

Typical LED sauna panels emit 8–20 mG from their integrated electronics; traditional electric saunas can reach 40–100+ mG. The Outdoor's simple filament bulbs carry no onboard electronics, and with shielded wiring and grounding, the cabin measures consistently below 2 mG — the most powerful heat in our lineup with the lowest possible exposure.

Questions, answered

Everything you'd ask us first.

Yes — that's what it's built for. Fully insulated Canadian cedar holds heat in any season, the elevated base keeps the cabin off wet decking, and a fitted all-weather cover ships with every order. One honest rule: the cedar is raw, unfinished wood — no stains or sealants — so the cover isn't optional decoration, it's the sauna's finish. Use the cover during all moisture (rain, snow, dew, sprinklers) and replace the cover every 3–4 months so its protective features stay intact. Do that, and the cedar stays beautiful for years.
Simple: the cabin is raw, unfinished Canadian cedar with no stains or sealants, so the fitted cover (included free) is what protects it from the elements. Keep the cover on during all moisture — rain, snow, dew, even sprinklers — and replace the cover every 3–4 months to make sure its durability and protective features stay intact. No sanding, staining, or sealing ever required.
Up to 180°F in as little as 15–25 minutes, depending on ambient temperature — our hottest sauna. Because the heat comes from twelve NIR bulbs (including four high-output 200W bulbs) rather than just heated air, it performs consistently even in cold climates. With the bulbs inches away and infrared heating you from within, 180° feels like 200°+.
Beautifully. Same 110V plug, same 60" × 42" footprint — garage, home gym, spare room, or sunroom. If you're set on an indoor spot from day one, also take a look at the indoor SweatBox at a lower price point. Click here to view the indoor SweatBox →
It's the question we hear most before people try it — and the answer is a confident no. The wide-format design leaves open space on both sides, room to fully stretch your legs, and air above your head. Most first-timers are surprised how roomy it feels.
Genuinely easy. Modular pieces fit together like a puzzle, all electrical arrives pre-wired, and it plugs into any 110–120V outlet — no electrician, ever. One person, one screwdriver, 45 minutes to an hour. Some framing pieces are ~40 lb, so a second set of hands helps.
We're a true American small business with growing but limited capacity. Current lead time for the Outdoor is estimated at 7–10 weeks, and it has reached 16 weeks in peak seasons. Ordering now locks your price and your place in line.
0% APR financing through Klarna and Affirm for up to 24 months, FSA and HSA payments via TruMed, and a deposit option ($700) that locks in sale pricing while you pay the balance before fulfillment — deposits are non-refundable after 48 hours. Because we're based in Oregon, there's never sales tax.
The indoor SweatBox (from $2,995) is hemlock, indoor-only, and heated by red light bulbs plus infrared panels to 150°F. The Outdoor is insulated Canadian cedar built for the elements — elevated base, all-weather cover included — heated entirely by twelve NIR bulbs to 180°F, and it works indoors too.
