This is the barrel we built to sit next to our saunas. Heat opens everything up; cold closes the loop — and the Wood + Steel Cold Plunge is designed for exactly that job. It holds you in full-body submersion, upright, shoulders under, so a cold plunge is actually a plunge and not a crouch in a tub of ice bags.
The interior is durable stainless steel — the material commercial cold tubs use, because it shrugs off cold water year after year and wipes clean in seconds. The exterior is wood-inspired vinyl planking that matches an elevated backyard as naturally as it matches a gym floor. Every surface is non-toxic and easy to clean.
And it isn't only cold. The included 1 HP unit is a chiller and a heater: it takes the water down to 33°F or up to a 105°F soak, scheduled from your phone. One barrel, both ends of the temperature spectrum.

The 1 HP chiller / heater
A commercial-grade unit with an LCD touch screen takes the water anywhere from 33°F to 105°F — a first fill typically reaches plunge temperature in 0–2 hours. Most home units cap around 37°F; this one goes colder than anything else on the market.
Triple filtration
Ozone, UV, and 20-micron mechanical filtration run together, so the water you get into next week is the water you filled it with. Two filters ship in the box — a six-month supply — and the built-in drain valve makes a full change a garden-hose job.
Full insulation, everywhere
The walls, the core, the bottom, and the lid are all insulated. Once the water is cold it stays cold for days, which means the chiller runs less and your energy bill notices. It's also what makes the 105°F hot-soak mode practical.
WiFi + app control
The included WiFi adapter puts the whole system on your phone: set the temperature, schedule sessions, and check where the water is from anywhere. Have it at 33°F when you walk out the back door — no standing around waiting.

Most of what you're buying in a cold plunge is the machine beside the barrel. Here's what this one does.
The included unit is a 1 HP commercial-grade chiller and heater with a 1 HP commercial-grade pump behind it — the class of hardware built for gym floors, running your backyard. It drives the water anywhere from 33°F to 105°F and holds it there, with a first cooldown typically done in 0–2 hours.
You control it two ways: the LCD touch screen on the unit itself, or the app over WiFi — set the temperature, schedule sessions, and check the water from anywhere. Water cleanliness is handled in the same loop: ozone, UV, and dual 20-micron filtration run as the water circulates, and the two included filters are a six-month supply.
It connects to the barrel with two easy-connect insulated hoses, rolls on casters so it tucks wherever you want it, and plugs into a standard 120V outlet — no electrician, no dedicated circuit.

At 34 inches across and 44 inches tall, the barrel claims about as much floor as a bistro table — it tucks onto a patio corner, a deck edge, or a garage bay without a site plan.
But compact never means compromised in there. The upright format is the whole trick: instead of folding yourself into a shallow horizontal tub, you step in and stand-sit with your whole body under the water, shoulders included. It's the deepest kind of immersion a plunge can give you, from the smallest footprint a plunge can occupy.
Steel stairs make the step-in easy, and the insulated lid keeps the cold locked in — and leaves, dust and curious raccoons locked out — between sessions.
